Mumbai, Aug 24 — Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan in an upcoming episode of “Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18” revealed how he avoids getting scolded by his wife Jaya Bachchan and even shared that he does all the household chores.
In an upcoming episode of the quiz-based reality show Preetiraj turns the tables on host Big B, asking if his wife, Jaya, scolds him when he returns home late. Her question prompts the host to share an endearing peak into his family dynamic.
He said: "Dekhiye deviji humein pata hota hain ki kya honewala hain toh hum kya karte hain, ki hum subhe uthteh heen sabse pehle joh humara parivaar hain unke sabke naam likhe hain contact mein aur ek group bana hain jisme hum message kar dete hain ki namaskar, hath jodhke fir likhte aaj humara shooting hain idhar-udhar toh aaj der se aaunga toh khane-vaane ka intezaar mat karna pehle heen bata ke rakhte hain toh iskeliye hum bach jaate hain.”
“(Look, Deviji, we know when something is going to happen, so what we do is, as soon as we wake up in the morning, we have all our family members’ names saved in our contacts, and we have a group where we send them a message saying, ‘Namaskar,’ with folded hands, and then tell them, ‘I have a shoot today, I’ll be back late, so don’t wait for me for dinner.’ We inform them beforehand, and that way, we save ourselves.)”
“Lekin maan lijiye ki aapne nahi bataya, tab padegi aapko yeh bolke ki kaha the aap, aapne bataya nahi yeh koi vakt hain aaneka. Toh agar humein bohot der hoti hain toh voh khud heen khana kha leti hain aur sone chali jaati hain."
“(But if you haven’t told them, then you’re bound to get scolded: “Where were you? You didn’t tell us. Is this any time to come home?” So, if we get very late, she just has her dinner herself and goes to sleep.)”
Asked if he takes over household chores whenever the staff is absent.
"Chaar ho, ya aath ho, ya das ho, staff ghar pe nahi hota toh saara kaam main heen karta hoon, saaf-safai vagera kar lete hain, khana banana nahi atta hain, toh kabhie bahar se mangalete hain ya kabhi unko heen bol dete hain ki deviji aap bana dijiye. Usse voh bohot excite hojati hain aur hume roz alag-alag padharth banake khilayegi aur puchegi ki hume khaana kaise laga."
“(Whether there are four people, eight people or ten people, if the staff isn’t at home, I do all the household chores myself, including cleaning and such. I don’t know how to cook, so sometimes we order food from outside, or sometimes I tell her, ‘Deviji, you make something for us.’ That gets her very excited, and she’ll make different dishes for us every day and then ask me how I liked the food.)”
Adding a sweet moment to the conversation, the legendary host takes a beat on national television to express his affection for his wife.
"Abhi haali main ek naya padharth banaya unhone, hum kheer khana chodh diye hain toh unhone aam ka kheer banaya tha. Toh hum sirf yeh kehna chahate hain thank you Jaya, I have loved the kheer you have made with Aam."
“(Recently, she made a new dish. We have stopped eating regular kheer, so she made mango kheer. I just want to say, thank you, Jaya. I loved the kheer you made with mangoes.)”
