Mumbai, Sep 29 — Megastar Amitabh Bachchan left the Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 audience in splits with his humour when a contestant revealed that he had brought his girlfriend along with him to the show.
The revelation prompted Big B to jokingly reflect on his own life and say that he had never had the opportunity to make such a confession at home.
While interacting with professional quizzer Ajay Poonia, Amitabh quipped, “84 saal ke ho gaye hain sir, ek baar bhi ghar pe ye bolne ka avsar nahi mila... ki hum apni girlfriend ko laye hain.” (I have turned 84, sir, and not even once did I get the opportunity to tell anyone at home that I had brought my girlfriend)
The humorous exchange began when Amitabh was introducing Ajay, who spoke about his profession as a quizzer. Pulling his leg, the veteran actor said that he had no idea one could actually earn money by conducting quizzes.
The conversation then took a more playful turn when Amitabh Bachchan learnt that Ajay not only creates most of his own quizzes but had also brought someone along to support him during his appearance on the show.
Curious to know who his companion was, Big B asked him about the person accompanying him. Ajay replied, “Sir mere saath meri girlfriend aayi hain, Tarini.”
The answer immediately prompted Amitabh’s hilarious confession about never getting the chance to tell anyone at home that he had brought his girlfriend.
The moment also comes amid many other candid conversations Amitabh has shared on KBC 18 about his personal life.
In recent episodes, the actor had spoken about his marriage to Jaya Bachchan, including how the two decided to get married without elaborate planning and eventually tied the knot the very next day.
Amitabh and Jaya married in 1973 and have two children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda.
