Amaravati, Aug 25 — Andhra Pradesh is committed to building a world‑class clean energy ecosystem that can power the State’s next phase of industrial and economic growth, State Minister Nara Lokesh said on Tuesday.
The State further strengthened its position as a leading clean‑energy hub by inaugurating 1,325 MW of wind energy projects in Anantapur, involving an investment of Rs 10,500 crore and expected to generate 1,600 direct and indirect jobs.
The Minister for Human Resources Development and IT also inaugurated an expanded smart blade manufacturing facility in Anantapur, with two additional production lines, further strengthening the State’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu posted on X that he felt immense satisfaction seeing new wind energy projects worth Rs 10,500 crore and an expanded manufacturing presence in Anantapur.
“My association with renewable energy goes back many years, to my friendship with its visionary pioneers. They believed deeply in the future of renewable energy long before it became a global imperative. I remember their faith in Andhra Pradesh and their commitment to building here with warmth. Today, as new projects begin in our State with 1,325 MW of wind projects, creating thousands of livelihoods, I feel we are carrying forward that shared vision,” the Chief Minister said.
“Andhra Pradesh will continue to honour long‑standing partnerships, keep its commitments, and build a clean, sustainable energy future for generations to come,” he added.
Lokesh said the groundbreaking of 1,325 MW of wind energy projects was another important milestone in this journey, reflecting the growing confidence of leading renewable energy companies in Andhra Pradesh’s progressive policies and investment ecosystem.
“Long‑standing partnerships such as this will be critical to accelerating renewable energy development, creating jobs, attracting investments, and positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leading clean‑energy hub for India,” he said.
The State has so far catalysed approximately Rs 15,500 crore of investment and is executing around 1,600 MW of wind projects.
The Anantapur manufacturing facility, with an annual capacity of 1,260 MW, currently supports more than 1,200 direct and indirect green jobs.
The State is also contributing to green skilling, with 12,000 young people, including 3,000 women, being trained through skill development labs in Uravakonda and Vijayawada.
