New Delhi/Agartala, Aug 8 — Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha member Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday met the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh in New Delhi along with his newly married wife Triveni Rao Deb and said that he had received the senior leader's affection and blessings for himself and his family.
Veteran BJP leader B.L. Santhosh on Saturday evening visited the residence of Biplab Kumar Deb in New Delhi.
Sharing photos of the meeting on his official X account, Deb said that he was grateful to Santhosh for extending his affection and blessings to him and his entire family.
"...I have received the affection and blessings of the successful National General Secretary (Organisation) of the Bharatiya Janata Party, B.L. Santhosh Ji, for me and my entire family," the former Tripura Chief Minister later said in his post on X.
Deb's meeting with the BJP's senior organisational leader came after his recent marriage.
He shared photos from the meeting showing himself and his wife with Santhosh.
The former Tripura Chief Minister, who currently represents Tripura West Parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha, has remained active in the BJP's organisational and political activities.
Santhosh, who plays a key role in the BJP's organisational affairs, has been closely associated with the recent Assembly elections in West Bengal, where the saffron party came to power for the first time trouncing the Trinamool Congress after 15 years.
The meeting also comes at a time when the BJP in Tripura is preparing for upcoming local level elections and seeking to further strengthen its organisational network in the state.
Biplab Kumar Deb, 55, married the Kannada actress and film artist Triveni Rao on June 19, 2026, in a private ceremony in New Delhi.
This is his second marriage, following his divorce from his first wife Niti Deb in 2025.
Before being elected to the Lok Sabha from West Tripura seat in the 2024 Parliamentary elections, Deb had served as a Rajya Sabha member representing Tripura from September 2022 until he resigned in June 2024 after his election to the Lok Sabha.
Deb served as the 10th Chief Minister of Tripura from March 9, 2018, to May 14, 2022.
Led by Deb, the BJP's historic electoral victory ended the CPI-M's 25-year uninterrupted rule in the state.
He resigned as the Chief Minister in May 2022, midway through his tenure, and was succeeded by incumbent Chief Minister Manik Saha.
