New Delhi/Patna, Sep 5 — Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin on Saturday hailed the contribution of educators and visited his school in Patna to pay a tribute to his mentor Padma Shri Acharya Kishore Kunal, an official said.
In a message on social media platform X, Nabin said, "Happy Teachers' Day to all the dedicated educators across the nation whose wisdom and guidance shape responsible citizens and a strong society."
"I also pay my respectful tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Ji on his birth anniversary. A distinguished philosopher and educationist, his monumental legacy continues to inspire our pursuit of knowledge," he added.
Sharing photos of his visit to his alma mater, Gyan Niketan School in Patna, the BJP President on X said, "On the occasion of Teachers' Day today, at Gyan Niketan School in Patna, I unveiled the statue of my mentor, Padma Shri Acharya Kishore Kunal Ji, and addressed the assembled teachers, students, and distinguished guests."
"My numerous memories associated with Gyan Niketan and Acharya Kishore Kunal Ji remain vividly alive even today. As a student from the school's inaugural batch, unveiling the statue of my mentor on Teachers' Day was an intensely emotional and profoundly special moment for me," he said on X.
"Acharya Kishore Kunal Ji's life stands as a unique exemplar of service, dedication, and responsibility toward society. Through his contributions in the fields of education, administration, religion, and social service, he left an indelible mark on society. His personality and thoughts will continue to inspire generations to come," he added on X.
Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with winners of National Teachers Awards at his residence at Lok Kalyan Marg.
The Prime Minister emphasised that teachers need to look beyond the academic performance of children and be attentive to their behaviour and everyday lives.
Referring to the reduction in traditional joint family set-up, PM Modi said teachers have an increasingly important role to play in the lives of children.
Referring to the issue of drugs, Prime Minister called upon teachers to remain alert to changes in children, identify the cause and help such children overcome the habit.
