New Delhi, Oct 26 — Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia on Monday targeted the Bhagwant Mann government for the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab.
Citing three tragic incidents of murder in the last 24 to 36 hours, Bhatia said people are being killed in broad daylight, but the Chief Minister does not have time to look into the worsening security situation.
Bhatia said the government should tell under which sections FIRs have been registered for these crimes, questioning the Chief Minister’s silence over the incidents.
He also demanded accountability of the government towards the safety of the public.
He alleged that crime, drug, and suicide incidents are on the rise in Punjab and the government is giving protection to the criminals.
“Bhagwant Maan has pushed Punjab towards Gundaraj and Jungleraj. If it is said that sinful AAP has now become ‘Arajak Apradh Party’, it will not be wrong,” he said.
Bhatia said open a newspaper or watch the news on television, and you will see crime reports from Punjab every day.
“Incidents like murder, drug abuse, and suicide are constantly occurring. Bhagwant Mann's government protects criminals and murderers, while the only ones who suffer and are oppressed are the people of Punjab,” he said.
The three incidents mentioned by Bhatia included an incident in Moga district in which armed assassins arrived in a black Scorpio and opened fire on two young men. Both were killed, and several others were injured.
“According to reports, the lawlessness in Punjab is such that this black Scorpio was running without a license plate, and illegal weapons were being used in broad daylight. Two people were murdered, yet Bhagwant Mann remained silent,” said Bhatia.
The BJP leader said Chief Minister Mann has time to go on foreign trips, time to buy expensive foreign goods, but the people of Punjab, whom it was his responsibility to serve, are being murdered, and the Chief Minister of the anarchic crime party is sitting silent.
