New Delhi, Sep 12 — The Delhi Police have safely recovered a 14-year-old girl who was kidnapped from Delhi and apprehended a 16-year-old boy who enticed her to Zirakpur in Punjab, officials said on Saturday.
The recovery was made following sustained Intelligence gathering, technical surveillance, field efforts and effective coordination between police teams across states.
According to the police, a case was registered at Bharat Nagar Police Station on September 5 following a complaint regarding the kidnapping of the minor girl. After the FIR was registered, the investigation was taken up on priority, and dedicated teams were deployed to trace the girl and the boy who had allegedly enticed her.
A dedicated team from Police Post Sangam Park, led by SI Rajesh Pilania, In-charge of PP Sangam Park, and comprising SI Naveen and Head Constable Manish, was constituted for the investigation.
The team worked under the close supervision of Inspector Ram Kishore, SHO of Bharat Nagar Police Station, and the overall guidance of ACP Ashok Vihar Akash Rawat.
During the investigation, the police conducted extensive analysis of CCTV footage, developed human Intelligence inputs and carried out technical surveillance. The team also conducted continuous raids and searches at suspected locations across Delhi.
Acting on Intelligence inputs developed during the investigation, the police team travelled to Zirakpur in Punjab and conducted a coordinated operation at an identified location.
The operation resulted in the safe recovery of the minor girl while the 16-year-old boy was apprehended. The girl is being brought back to Delhi, while necessary legal formalities are being completed as per law.
The Delhi Police said the prompt action, technical surveillance, Intelligence gathering, sustained field efforts and interstate coordination played a crucial role in tracing the minor and ensuring her safe recovery.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
