Mumbai, July 21 — Actor Dheeraj Dhoopar landed in trouble on the reality show ‘Lock Upp’, after host Riteish Deshmukh revealed that the actor's family had attempted to send small notes in firm of chits to help Dheeraj understand the game better.
He added that it was an act that violated the show's rules.
During the latest episode, Riteish revealed that the makers had noticed repeated attempts by Dheeraj's family to pass on handwritten notes containing game strategies.
Addressing the actor, Riteish said, "We don't allow any family member to visit the contestants. However, on humanitarian grounds, we allowed your son to meet you. That day, someone from your family tried to smuggle chits inside the show. We did not pay much attention to it then and let it slide. However, once again, along with your belongings, your family tried to send a chit with winning strategies written on it."
The host warned Dheeraj that contestants are expected to play the game on their own and that any form of external assistance would not be tolerated.
Riteish also termed it as the actor's final warning, and said that any similar violation in the future would invite strict action.
Reacting to the allegations, Dheeraj who appeared guilty and humiliated, apologised to Riteish and maintained that he had no knowledge of the incident. He also clarified that he had never asked for any outside help and did not want such a situation to arise.
The actor sternly also told his family via cameras not to repeat such actions, saying he was capable of playing his own game.
Accepting Dheeraj's explanation, Riteish reiterated that all contestants must follow the rules of the competition. Before leaving , he warned that any further breach would be dealt with strictly.
