Jaipur, Sep 29 — Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Tuesday urged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers to contest the upcoming Panchayat elections with the same resolve and organisational strength that ensured the party’s victory in the recent civic body polls.
Addressing BJP workers from Kota and Bundi at the Allen Auditorium in Kota, Sharma said the party’s greatest strength, whether in Panchayat or Parliamentary elections, lies in its dedicated workforce.
He credited BJP workers' hard work, spirit of service, and commitment for the party’s growth.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sharma said the Prime Minister believes elections are won not by leaders but by booth-level workers.
He noted that the BJP’s performance in the urban local body elections resulted from the dedication and service-oriented approach of its workers.
The BJP, he said, had formed boards in 204 of Rajasthan’s 309 urban local bodies. In Kota district, the party won five of six local bodies, while a BJP-supported candidate won in Itawa.
Sharma described the results as a clear indication of public support for the party.
The Chief Minister said holding an organisational position in the BJP is a formal arrangement, but serving the organisation is a lifelong responsibility.
He urged elected representatives to discharge their duties with integrity and to follow the principle of “service to the nation through service to the people.”
Sharma called on BJP workers to prepare for the Panchayati Raj elections and strengthen the organisation at the Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad levels.
He emphasised the need for extensive public outreach, including visits to villages and hamlets, and greater engagement with new voters and women.
He also urged party workers to make effective use of social media to communicate information about government schemes and convey the party’s message to the public.
