Jay Shah visits DDCA prez Rohan Jaitley to pay tribute to Late Arun Jaitley

New Delhi, Aug 23 — Jay Shah, Chairperson of the International Cricket Council(ICC), visited Rohan Jaitley, President of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), at his home on Sunday to pay homage to the late Arun Jaitley on the eve of his 7th death anniversary.

The visit by Jay Shah is a gesture of respect, remembrance and gratitude to a visionary leader, statesman and true inspiration. It is a remembrance of late Arun Jaitley's legacy and following his vision.

Arun Jaitley, who held portfolios like Finance, Corporate Affairs, Defence, Information and Broadcasting, Law and Justice, Commerce and Industry in various Bharatiya Janata Party governments at the Centre between 1999 and 2019, was president of the DDCa from 1999 to 2013. He also held the post of vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and served on the governing council of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He was credited with ending infighting in the DDCA and bringing changes in governance. The DDCA's Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium was renamed after the late Arun Jaitley a few years back.

His son, Rohan, was elected unopposed as DDCA president in 2023.

As DDCA president, Rohan Jaitley successfully turned around the association's financial health. When he assumed leadership, DDCA had just Rs 85 lakh in reserves and outstanding dues of Rs 22 crore. Under his guidance, the association's finances improved significantly, including a Rs 100-crore fixed deposit and the investment of over Rs 70 crore to renovate the stadium for the 2023 World Cup. He was also instrumental in the launch of the Delhi Premier League.
