Mumbai, Aug 25 — Actress Kashmera Shah has extended her support to her maternal aunt-in-law Sunita Ahuja amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Sunita's strained relationship with her husband, actor Govinda.
Kashmera, who was once at the centre of a long-standing family feud with Sunita, said she stands by her and stressed that she would protect her family “no matter what”.
Talking to the paparazzi stationed outside actor Abhishek Kumar's birthday party on Monday evening, Kashmera was asked about the situation.
An annoyed Kashmera said, When they have left each other, why don't you leave them alone? Why are you asking this question?”
She further said that she was standing with Sunita and pointed out that she had generally refrained from speaking out publicly.
“I am with Sunita. She has never raised her voice earlier. She has never said that this is wrong, that is wrong but is she is saying it today, so there must be something wrong,” Kashmera said.
She further made it clear that she would stand by her family amid the ongoing developments.
“I will be standing with all the ladies of my family. I will protect my family no matter what,” she added.
Kashmera's support for Sunita comes months after the two ladies appeared to put their own bitter past behind them.
The long-running family rift between Sunita and Kashmera had also kept the two women apart for years. Their relationship eventually thawed, with Krushna, Kashmera and Sunita reuniting publicly on the sets of Laughter Chefs.
Sunita was seen hugging it out and forgiving Kashmera.
The latest development comes at a time when Govinda and Sunita's marriage has once again come under intense public scrutiny. Recent reports claim that the couple have unfollowed each other on Instagram.
