Bhopal/Chhindwara, Aug 7 — Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday suspended three government officials, including a district health officer, on the first day of the state’s six-month Jan Vishwas Abhiyan, saying the government would not tolerate negligence in redressing public grievances.
The officials suspended with immediate effect are in-charge Chief Medical and Health Officer Naresh Gunnade, Tehsildar Sunaina Bramhe and Patwari Siddhant Sahu. The action came after the Chief Minister reviewed pending complaints received through the CM Helpline while launching the Jan Vishwas Abhiyan in Chhindwara district.
According to the government, Gunnade was suspended after a complaint filed by Seema Tumram regarding non-payment of maternity assistance remained unresolved.
Tehsildar Bramhe was suspended over the prolonged pendency of a CM Helpline complaint filed by Parasia resident Vinod Banjara, while Patwari Sahu faced action for failing to resolve a complaint lodged by Chaurai resident Govind Nayak within the stipulated time.
“The government will not spare officials who ignore public grievances,” Yadav said, directing immediate action against the three officials.
Launching the campaign, the Chief Minister said Fridays would no longer be reserved for routine review meetings in government offices.
“Officers should assess ground realities instead of holding meetings. They should visit villages and towns, interact with people, review the implementation of government schemes and ensure on-the-spot resolution of grievances,” he said.
The Jan Vishwas Abhiyan, which will continue till January 7 next year, envisages ministers, senior bureaucrats and district officials spending every Friday in the field to monitor government programmes and hear public complaints.
Addressing a felicitation function later in the day, Yadav said his government had resolved the long-pending issue of promotions of government employees and the remaining eligible employees would be promoted during September and October this year.
“Our government has ensured that employees get their rightful promotions. We are also carrying out recruitment in a transparent manner to strengthen the administrative system,” he said.
During the address, the Chief Minister said around one lakh government jobs had been provided in the last two-and-a-half years and the process was underway to fill around two lakh more posts in different departments. He said the police department alone was recruiting more than 18,000 personnel, including 1,000 drivers, while over 10,000 teachers and around 7,000 professors had already been recruited.
