Bhopal, Aug 4 — The Congress on Tuesday reviewed its organisational structure in Madhya Pradesh and discussed ways to strengthen the party’s grassroots network under the ongoing ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’.
The review meeting was chaired by Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal at Indira Bhavan in New Delhi. It was attended by AICC in‑charge for Madhya Pradesh Harish Chaudhary, Pradesh Congress Committee president Jitu Patwari, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, and AICC secretaries handling the state.
In a post on X after the meeting, Venugopal wrote that he held an in‑depth discussion on organisational strengthening initiatives in Madhya Pradesh with Harish Chaudhary, Jitu Patwari, Umang Singhar, and concerned AICC secretaries.
He added that the party also met District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents appointed last year under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan to gather feedback and suggestions on measures to further rebuild the organisation in the state.
According to party leaders in Madhya Pradesh, the meeting reviewed the progress of the organisational revamp and discussed measures to strengthen district and booth‑level units, improve coordination within the organisation, and expand the party’s outreach across the state.
Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar told IANS that the leadership discussed strengthening the Congress organisation and reviewed the political situation in Madhya Pradesh. He said detailed discussions were held on strengthening the party organisation across the state, reviewing the current political situation, and preparing for upcoming organisational and electoral challenges.
“The focus is on making the Congress organisation stronger and more effective at every level, from the booth to the state level,” Singhar said.
The Congress has been implementing the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan in Madhya Pradesh to strengthen its organisational structure and prepare the party for future electoral contests.
