MP govt to organise Urban Conclave-2026 in Indore on Oct 28; infrastructure investment on agenda

Bhopal, Oct 13 — With a view to attracting investment in infrastructure further, the Madhya Pradesh government will organise “Urban Conclave-2026” in Indore on October 28.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to launch a major initiative aimed at giving a fresh direction to urban development in Madhya Pradesh and attracting greater investment in infrastructure.

Under his leadership, the “Urban Conclave-2026” will be organised on October 28 at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore. The grand event will bring together experts, investors, start-ups and officials from relevant departments for extensive discussions on new models of urban development, investment opportunities, digital governance, environmental protection and the future needs of cities.

During the conclave, the Chief Minister will hold one-on-one meetings with investors to discuss potential projects in urban areas and their effective implementation.

He will also perform ground-breaking ceremonies and inaugurations of several urban development projects. A special session will focus on the planned development of tier-2 cities.

Participants will deliberate on issues such as density, Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), Transferable Development Rights (TDR), residential redevelopment, master plans, development corridors, RERA approvals, ease of doing business and Floor Area Ratio (FAR).

The objective is to optimise land use, improve residential amenities and make transport systems more efficient as cities expand. Sessions on digital governance will cover the Automated Building Permit Approval System (ABPAS), online NOC and development permit processes, GIS-based planning and Project Management Information Systems.

Another key discussion will centre on climate-resilient and environmentally friendly cities, addressing water security, AMRUT 2.0, the Namo Green City Scheme, city forests, air quality improvement, electric vehicles, solid waste management, waste-to-energy and the compressed biogas (CBG) ecosystem.

Financing of urban projects will also feature prominently, with options such as public-private partnerships, urban challenge funds, green bonds, municipal bonds, temple bonds, joint ventures, multilateral financing and viability gap funding under consideration.

Investment opportunities in solar energy projects will be explored as well. Keeping the upcoming Simhastha-2028 in Ujjain in mind, a dedicated session will discuss the development of a world-class pilgrimage city.

Priority infrastructure, project financing, digital twin modelling, technology-based crowd and traffic management, and implementation plans will be examined.

According to Sanket Bhondve, Commissioner of the Urban Development and Housing Department, the conclave aims to promote investment, innovation, modern technology and the start-up ecosystem in the state. Investors, start-ups and youth are invited to participate.
