Patna, Sep 9 — Weather conditions have once again deteriorated across Bihar, with the Disaster Management Department issuing alerts for several districts over the possibility of rain, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds on Wednesday.
The department has urged residents to exercise caution during adverse weather and avoid unnecessary travel or exposure to open areas.
An orange alert has been issued for Muzaffarpur district, where moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds is expected.
Residents have been advised to remain indoors or move to safe locations during periods of lightning and thunderstorms.
People have also been cautioned against venturing into open areas while the weather remains unstable.
Weather warnings have also been issued for Patna and Siwan, with moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds likely in both districts.
The Meteorological Department has separately forecast the possibility of rain, thunderstorms and lightning across Bihar on Wednesday.
Such conditions, accompanied by strong winds, are expected to continue in parts of the state over the coming days.
Authorities have urged people to avoid open fields, agricultural areas, isolated trees and electricity poles during thunderstorms and lightning.
Residents have been advised to remain in safe locations and follow weather warnings and instructions issued by the administration.
Meanwhile, the flood situation remains a concern in several parts of Bihar, with water levels continuing to rise in a number of rivers.
The possibility of further rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning has added to concerns over conditions in already flood-affected areas.
The flood situation has worsened in several districts of Bihar over the past few days, with Katihar, Patna, Bhojpur, Buxar, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Munger and Bhagalpur, all located in the Ganga basin, facing severe flooding.
The situation is also deteriorating in Gopalganj, Siwan, Sheohar and East Champaran as water levels in the Gandak river continue to rise, and flooding occurred in several areas.
The administration is monitoring the situation and has urged residents to remain alert as weather conditions remain changeable.
