Jaipur, July 30 — Rajasthan is set to launch a simultaneous statewide campaign to destroy seized narcotics and prohibited substances, with Chief Secretary V. Srinivas directing officials to intensify enforcement against drug mafias under a zero-tolerance framework.
Chairing a meeting of the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) at the Government Secretariat, Srinivas said the special drive would be conducted on a single designated day across all districts. He emphasised that dismantling organised trafficking networks and breaking supply chains must remain the priority, in line with the Centre’s “Detect–Disrupt–Destroy” strategy.
The Chief Secretary instructed police to prepare evidence-backed charge sheets against habitual offenders to ensure swift trials and stringent punishment. He also asked Superintendents of Police to identify the 10 most significant NDPS cases in each district and list the five most notorious drug mafias for targeted action, including confiscation of illegally acquired assets.
The meeting discussed the formulation of a Zero-Tolerance Policy on Narcotics under the state’s Vision 2026–29 framework. Departments were told to prepare a comprehensive plan combining strict enforcement with de-addiction, awareness, and prevention measures.
Vehicles seized in narcotics cases are to be auctioned promptly, while cases involving accused persons with three or more criminal records must be disposed of expeditiously.
Additional Director General of Police (ANTF) Vikas Kumar presented details of ongoing enforcement measures. The meeting was attended by Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Bhaskar A. Sawant, Additional Chief Secretary (Higher and Technical Education) Kuldeep Ranka, Additional Director General (ANTF) Dinesh M.N., and senior officials from multiple departments and agencies. The Inspector General, BSF Rajasthan Frontier, joined via video conferencing.
