Bhopal, Aug 26 — Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Hemant Khandelwal on Wednesday asked the party’s youth and farmer wings to step up grassroots outreach and counter the opposition’s campaign by taking government achievements to people with facts and figures.
Khandelwal made the remarks while addressing separate meetings of the BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha, Kisan Morcha and Yuva Morcha at the party’s state headquarters in Bhopal.
He stressed the need for stronger communication between the organisation, government and different sections of society. His emphasis on direct outreach and social media comes as the BJP seeks to consolidate its organisational network and maintain its connect with young voters and rural communities.
Addressing the Yuva Morcha, Khandelwal said young people were increasingly getting information through social media and alleged that opposition parties were using these platforms to create a negative perception about BJP governments. “Young people are the strength of tomorrow, and it is everyone’s responsibility to provide them with the correct information,” he said, asking party workers to engage with youth using facts and explain the work of the BJP governments.
He asked the youth wing to highlight initiatives related to employment, investment, industry, education, healthcare, irrigation, self‑employment and infrastructure, and encourage more young people to join the organisation.
At the Kisan Morcha meeting, Khandelwal said the state government’s decision to observe 2026 as the “Year of Farmers” had increased the responsibility of the party’s farmer wing. He asked workers to visit villages, understand farmers’ concerns and ensure that information about government schemes and their benefits reaches beneficiaries. The Morcha should serve as a link between farmers, the organisation and the government, he said.
Khandelwal highlighted the expansion of irrigation in Madhya Pradesh, claiming that the irrigated area had increased from around 7.5 lakh hectares before 2003 to 55 lakh hectares under BJP governments.
At the Scheduled Caste Morcha meeting, Khandelwal targeted the Congress over its treatment of B R Ambedkar. “Congress has always insulted Babasaheb Ambedkar, while the BJP has honoured him,” he said.
