Kolkata, July 20 — West Bengal BJP is planning to hold 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme across the state in a grand manner from August 9.
An insider in the West Bengal BJP said on Monday that after the formation of the party's government in the state, the state party leadership has decided to implement the programme there.
It was learnt that on the orders of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the saffron camp is going to take the Har Ghar Tiranga programme to another level in every district of the state.
The programme is a part of nationwide initiative 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' that encourages every citizen of the country to hoist the Tricolour in their homes.
It is a special initiative to awaken patriotism in the minds of citizens and show respect for the National Flag. This Independence Day, the national flag will fly from a large number of houses in Bengal.
According to the BJP insider, this year, the party's 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme in Bengal will start on August 9 and will continue till August 14.
BJP MP Saumitra Khan has been made in-charge of this programme on behalf of the party in the state.
Party leaders Anindya Banerjee (Raju), Sonali Murmu Soren, Mahadev Sarkar and Falguni Patra have been made co-in-charge.
This programme will be held in all districts of the state. Instructions have been sent by the party to the district committees.
There will also be a procession with the National Flag. Not only that, the state BJP has also requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to come to Bengal and hold a meeting during this programme.
According to sources, the top leadership of the state BJP has put the issue of this programme before him. It is said that Shah may come to Bengal again at that time. However, it is not yet confirmed whether the Union Home Minister will attend any such programme in Bengal.
Since the BJP was not in power in the state, it had to face obstacles from the previous Trinamool Congress government while carrying out various programmes.
The party is also trying to bring central ministers and leaders to the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programmes in different districts.
The BJP will also hoist the National Flag in various areas. Various cultural and patriotic programmes will be organised to commemorate the country's Independence. In addition, the National Flag will be hoisted everywhere, including government and private offices, schools, various institutions and shops.
