IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers Resigns After Flight Crisis

IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers has stepped down months after the airline faced a major flight disruption crisis.

The airline failed to adjust crew scheduling in time, which resulted in large-scale cancellations and delays across multiple airports. During the peak of the disruption, thousands of flights were cancelled and many passengers were stranded at airports across the country. Aviation authorities later imposed penalties on the airline and placed it under strict regulatory monitoring to ensure operational stability.

Industry analysts say the leadership change comes at a sensitive time for India’s aviation sector.
