A Pakistan airstrike reportedly hit a Kabul rehabilitation centre, killing over 400 people and injuring many.
Afghanistan’s Taliban government said the strike targeted a large drug rehabilitation hospital in Kabul, destroying major parts of the facility. Officials claimed at least 400 people were killed and around 250 injured in the attack, which occurred at night when many patients were inside. The centre reportedly had thousands undergoing treatment, making the impact severe. Pakistan, however, denied hitting any civilian site, stating that its strikes were aimed only at militant infrastructure and terrorist support systems.
The Editorial Team of Behind The Headlines reports that the incident marks a sharp escalation in tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which have seen repeated cross-border attacks in recent weeks. The strike has raised serious humanitarian concerns and triggered global calls for restraint. If tensions continue, the conflict could destabilize the wider region, disrupt security, and increase civilian suffering, while also affecting geopolitical balance in South Asia.
