Jaipur, June 29 (IANS) Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s July 4 visit to inaugurate the Pachpadra Refinery, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has described the mega project as a “game changer” that will transform the state’s economic future and usher in a new era of industrial development.

Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday conducted a comprehensive review of preparations at the refinery site and expressed confidence that the mega project would usher in a new era of prosperity for the state.

Calling the refinery a “game changer” for Rajasthan, the Chief Minister said it is poised to transform the state’s economic landscape and accelerate development across the region.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, the Chief Minister inspected the refinery premises and held a detailed review meeting with officials of HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL) and the district administration. The meeting, which lasted nearly one-and-a-half hours, focussed on the operational readiness of the refinery, security arrangements, logistics, and preparations for the inauguration ceremony.

The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that all arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit are completed within the stipulated timeline.

Upon his arrival at the refinery helipad, Sharma was welcomed by Minister-in-Charge Joraram Kumawat, Minister K.K. Bishnoi, MLAs Hamir Singh Bhayal, Arun Chaudhary, and Aaduram Meghwal, along with senior administrative officials.

Addressing the media after the review, the Chief Minister said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Rajasthan on July 4. A historic moment is about to unfold in Western Rajasthan, one that people have awaited for years. This refinery is set to transform Rajasthan’s destiny.”

He added that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the country has witnessed unprecedented development over the past 12 years, with several welfare initiatives benefiting the poor and major infrastructure projects reaching Rajasthan under the double-engine government.

“Within just two-and-a-half years, numerous development projects have come to Rajasthan. The state is moving rapidly on the path of progress, and the coming years will take Rajasthan to new heights of development,” he said.

Before concluding his visit, Chief Minister Sharma offered prayers at the revered Sambhara Ashapura Mata Temple, seeking blessings for the successful commissioning of the refinery and the prosperity and well-being of Rajasthan.

The refinery was originally scheduled to be inaugurated on April 21, but the event was postponed after a fire broke out in the refinery’s CDU-VDU unit a day earlier. With the technical issues now addressed, the refinery is set to be formally dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 4.

Officials of HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL) and the district administration have been working on a war footing to complete all logistical, operational, and security arrangements ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit.

The Chief Minister’s review is being seen as a key step in ensuring the smooth conduct of one of Rajasthan’s most significant industrial inauguration ceremonies, with the Pachpadra Refinery expected to emerge as a major driver of investment, employment, and economic growth in the state.
